So... I Guess the Hard Part is (Mostly) Over!

And now... a recap:

In:
Ohio State (Fellowship)
Maryland (Fellowship)
IU (TA/Fellowship)
Minnesota (TA/Fellowship)
UCLA (Funding TBD)
UCSD (No Money At All)

Out:
Northwestern (Assuming)
Brown
Michigan

And it looks like it is becoming more and more clear that UCLA or Minnesota will be the way to go. I will still visit Maryland, because they have such an advantage in being close to DC, but if UCLA gives me money, I think the decision will be made. So, I can finally say that I am on the other side of the fence: I have survived the application process, now I have to make it through the actually hard part!

I Hope I Don't Get Mistaken For Too Many Movie Stars...

I GOT IN AT UCLA! Financial aid is pending, but I am told that I have been placed high on the fellowship waiting list. I had to try very hard not to write back, PLEEEASE GIVE ME A FELLOWSHIP. I am freaking out... and I still have to do topology homework... but all I want to do is freak out!

Update on Aid

So, my aid picture looks like this right now:

OSU: Fellowship (unsure on details)
Maryland: Fellowship (15k+tuit+insur)
IU-Bloomington: Fellowship/TA
UCSD- No $, so I had to decline the offer

So it is probably between OSU and Maryland at the moment, although I'm going to drive down to IU at some point this week to see what the atmosphere is like. I am scheduled to visit Maryland on the 27th and then OSU on the 31st, so I won't exactly be attending classes that week!

More to come, and hopefully it will be good!

Northwestern

Things do not bode well for me at NWU. Tons of people posting acceptances and waitlists. I'm guessing this means I am neither. Oh well, both of the private schools are now off my list. Looks like I'm a public school kinda guy.

Another Update!

In at Maryland! w00t! X2!

Man, good couple of days in Andyland.

Update

In at IU! w00tz0r!

I don't know if this complicates things much... but Bloomington is a really beautiful city, and I would only be a few hours from home. I'm trying to keep my opinions open until aid is announced everywhere.

Update II

In at UCSD! No word on aid in the email... something tells me I won't be getting any, or not enough at any rate. This complicates my decision...

Update

The folks at Brown didn't want a piece. That's alright, I think I would have been too intense for them anyway. Plus, what football team would I have watched at Brown?
